It is believed that fighters from the Freedom of Russia Legion (FRL), the Siberian Battalion (SB) and the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) are jointly fighting against government forces in the Belgorod and Kursk regions.

At the start of their tank-led assault, the FRL vowed to “take our country away from the regime inch by inch.”

The legion later claimed: “The village of Tetkino, in the Kursk region, is completely under the control of the Russian liberation forces.

“Putin’s army is quickly leaving the village, abandoning positions and heavy equipment.”

Unverified images appear to show Russian troops running for their lives in the Kursk region.

The guerrillas claimed that Russian tanks had also withdrawn, but the Kremlin denied this.

The Russian Defense Ministry insisted that rebel breakthrough attempts were thwarted, claiming that more than 234 “Ukrainian” troops had been killed and several tanks destroyed.

Ukraine The armed forces denied their involvement in the attack, saying the paramilitary groups are “independent organizations” of Russian citizens operating “at home.”

Despite Moscow’s claims, the partisans tonight promised a “long hot night” for their enemy and said fighting was still raging.

Alexei Baranovsky, an FRL volunteer, shared Pravda: “All our groups are still in Kursk and Belgorod Oblasts.

“The whole situation is going on.

“Today we only saw the first part of the play.”

Baranovsky told it too Newsweek that they hope to “march on Moscow” at the end of their “most ambitious operation yet.”

He said their ultimate goal was to ensure the “liberation of Russia from Putin.”

He added: “We may not be able to get it done now, but that is our overarching mission.

“This marks a new milestone for the resistance movement.”

Dramatic footage taken earlier on Tuesday showed rebel tanks passing over a settlement in the Belgorod region.

Another clip showed an armored personnel carrier being blown up.

The legion, which was formed in the spring of 2022 with the explicit aim of overthrowing Putin’s regime, is gaining strength.

Putin is very afraid of us

Before the explosive but aborted Wagner Group mutiny in June, fighters from Russia’s Legion of Freedom had stormed across the border in tanks and led the main attack on Russian soil ever since Putin came to power.

In a days-long battle in May, they “liberated” eight villages in the Belgorod region, even capturing Russian soldiers and embarrassing Putin on the world stage.

The political representative of the legion, former Russian MP Ilya Ponomarevclaimed that another village, Lozovaya Rudka in Belgorod, was also under their complete control.

He previously described the FRL to The Sun as an “established military force”.

The Kremlin’s devout foe said it was “by far the largest resistance network within Russia.”

In December, The Sun spoke to a senior commander of the legion, Caesar, who made a promise Russia is ready to explode and they will help light the fuse in 2024.

He warned Russia that its “warriors” will stop at nothing to “liberate our motherland” and “save Ukraine” in the process.

From a secret bunker near the Ukrainian front line, Caesar, 49, said: “We are the first military regiment to say clearly and loudly that only a struggle by force can change power in Russia.”

The anti-Putin partisans have scaled up their covert operations and prepared for an armed struggle. “That’s why Putin is very afraid of us,” he added.

The commander said they have a combined force of thousands of brave Russians behind them – those willing to risk their lives to secure a “brighter future” for Russia.

The pro-Ukrainian guerrilla attacks came on the same day that Ukraine rained hell on Russia one of their largest kamikaze drone strikes of the war so far.

Two of Putin’s oil refineries – hundreds of miles behind enemy lines – went up in flames early Tuesday morning after being bombed.

A Russian IL-76 jet was also filmed exploded in mid-air and crashed in a fireball yesterday in the latest disaster of Putin’s creaking and dilapidated army.
