She claimed that she has the best method, and that it prevents your children’s socks from looking dirty on the bottom.

TikToker Donna Mendoza (@donnamendoza35) likes to share her cleaning tips online.

One thing she doesn’t want people to do is use a sponge mop on their floors. She said it doesn’t pick up all the dirt.

“Another customer who only used a sponge mop,” Donna said.

“I told her that the sponge mop just pushes the dirt around,” she continued. “Don’t lift it.”

Donna first scrubbed the floors with a bristle broom and soapy water.

She then used an Ocedar mop, which has a microfiber head, to clean up the rest.

The cleaner said her client looked at her technique and was “impressed.”

“She said it’s no wonder her kids’ socks are always black,” Donna wrote.

The TikToker had to mop the floors “at least 10 times” before cleaning them.

Donna showed how the mop water was still brown after several rinses.

“This was about the fifth rinse and it was still dirty,” she said. “Please, no more sponge mops.”

Some people on TikTok had opinions about Donna’s method.

“After five rinses you now just have to consider it ‘part of the floor’,” says someone.

“I want to leave it spotless,” the original poster replied.

Others suggested that the cleaner should have used a steam cleaner instead, or separated the dirty water from the clean water.

“Works better if you separate the dirty water from the clean water instead of mopping with dirty water,” said one viewer.

“Just buy a steam mop,” another posted. ‘I love them. Your wife cleans the floor afterwards and the cloth is clean.’
