The three-year-old had more than 70 injuries to his legs, buttocks and genitals, including infected burns.

He is said to be “significantly weakened” by the wounds, which were described as “excruciatingly painful”.

Robinson, 30, was today convicted of murdering her son after beating him to death with a stick.

Newcastle Crown Court heard the angry mother mete out horrific punishments because the “Bible tells her to chastise her child.”

Robinson, who wanted more than ten children, accepted the use of the cane with her son, describing it as a form of “correction” when he messed with his food.

But the mother, who follows the black Hebrew Israelites religionsaid she was “misled” after hearing a religious lesson online.

She deliberately burned Dwelaniyah by immersing him in hot water and used the stick and spoons to beat him.

On November 5, 2022, she called 999 to report that her son’s eyes had become “all weird” and he was not breathing.

When paramedics arrived, Robinson told them that Dwelaniyah may have choked on a cheese sandwich he was eating.

But a post-mortem later revealed a horrific catalog of injuries caused in the weeks before his death.

The youth had burns covering about 15 to 20 percent of his beaten body and suffered serious head injuries that caused damage to his brain and eyes.

Police When the house was searched, bloodstains were found on Dwelaniyah’s teddy bear and on a door frame and a rug in front of his bed.

His blood and skin were also found on the bamboo stick when it was taken from the house.

Prosecutor Richard Wright KC said Dwelaniyah had been injured for some time and would have been in pain.

He said Robinson did not take her son to hospital because she “knew questions would immediately arise” about the “terrible injuries”.

Police condemn Robinson’s horror abuse

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Turner, senior investigating officer for Operation Aruana at Durham Police, said: “A child’s life is precious.

‘Dwelaniyah Robinson was sadly deprived of his life at the age of three after being beaten and abused by his own mother.

“She tragically subjected him to repeated whippings with a stick and immersed him in scalding hot water, resulting in almost 20 percent burns.

“Even after this horrific abuse, she failed to seek treatment, leaving him in great pain. Just weeks later, while still suffering, he suffered a fatal head injury.

“Christina Robinson lied from the start and I am glad the jury saw through her lies and convicted her today.

“This has been a truly horrific case that has affected everyone involved. I would like to thank our investigation team for their dedication and commitment to getting justice for Dwelaniyah.

“My thoughts are with those who truly cared about Dwelaniyah. Sadly, nothing can bring him back, but hopefully today’s verdict will provide some closure and allow them to grieve.”

She put off calling 999 before speaking to her husband on the phone first, despite him serving in the RAF 240 miles away.

Robinson also searched Google for how to resuscitate a child.

Mr Wright added: ‘She deliberately immersed him in boiling water.

“She did not seek treatment for his injuries.

“She allowed him to suffer for several weeks, and then she caused him head injuries not once but twice by shaking him so hard that she damaged his brain, and that injury in turn caused his heart to stop. ”

Robinson was taken into custody and will be sentenced on May 24.
