The NBA is investigating allegations that Oklahoma City Thunder’s rising star Josh Giddey had an inappropriate relationship with a minor.
Photos and videos of Giddey with a girl – including one in which she bragged about having sex with him – were posted on social media in recent days.
NBA spokesman Mike Bass said, “The NBA is investigating allegations that Oklahoma City’s Josh Giddey had an inappropriate relationship with a minor that came forward via social media.”
Giddey, 21, was selected by the Thunder with the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft and has emerged as one of their most important players.

The photo – which shows a shirtless Giddey standing behind her – is captioned ‘just f***ed josh giddey’.

There is also a video of Giddey supposedly talking to the girl’s brother, saying: ‘I’m here with your beautiful sister.
‘Good luck with your season. I hear you’re heading to Sacramento for a game soon, so good luck. We’re coming up to see how you handle things.’
In another video, in which she appears to be standing in the background outside a nightclub, Giddey says: ‘What’s going on, my man? We’re at the front of the club, me and my girl, about to go back to mine.’
It remains unclear when and where the photos and videos were taken and how old the girl actually is.

When asked about the speculation in Friday’s training, Giddey said: “I understand the question obviously, but there is no further comment at this time.”
When pressed for a proper answer, he added, “I understand the question guys, I completely understand that you want to know more about it, but at this point I have nothing to say.”
Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault also declined to give a definitive answer.
“Personal matter and I have no comment on it,” he said. “And that will be my answer to everything related to it.”
The age of consent in Oklahoma is 16.
Giddey has been making a name for himself in the NBA since his debut season with the Thunder.
This year he is averaging 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists.
