Netflix fans are praising ‘unhinged’ horror that has just hit the streaming platform
Netflix fans have been quick to recommend one of the platform’s new additions: an “unhinged” 2021 horror film.
The ‘absolutely insane’ film comes from the same director as The Conjuring, Lights Out and Saw.
James Wan’s Malignant has been revived by Netflix after launching with the streaming giant on November 27.
One horror fan posted to X in celebration: “Malignant is on Netflix! One of the most unhinged horror films in years. Awesome.’
Another said: ‘If you haven’t seen the horror movie Malignant yet, it’s on Netflix now and I highly recommend it. Damn bats***, I love it.”

Malignant tells the story of a young woman, played by Annabelle Wallis, who is “tormented by harrowing visions of murder” and “comes face to face with a sinister entity from her mysterious past.”
Wallis’ character, Madison Mitchell, decides to try to save those she has a premonition about being killed.
One person described it as ‘absolutely insane and so much fun’.
But it isn’t, there is also a shocking twist in the story that gives it an extra element on top of the classic ghost story it originally seems.
“The first movie I recommend to anyone who wants to see a good horror movie is Malignant,” said another Netflix viewer.
“The absolutely crazy reveal in this movie, and the fact that it became a legitimate action movie, was incredible!”

This isn’t the first revival of the thriller this year; it was launched on Amazon Prime Video in June and newcomers to the film were similarly impressed.
One said: ‘The film offers a twist so ridiculous I just had to applaud it.’
Evil has one Rotten tomatoes average rating of 76 percent, with an emphasis on “memorably crazy twist” despite not being “particularly scary.”
