New female officer, 24, suspended for 'affairs with married police chief and jailed drug lord'

A rookie cop is suspended for an alleged affair with a married police chief and a drug lord.

PC Caitlin Howarth was 21 years old when she allegedly had a tryst with Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Greenwood, 17 years her senior.

The relationship was apparently discovered when West Yorkshire Police launched an investigation into alleged links between Howarth and a jailed heroin dealer, it is said.

Howarth, now 24, has been suspended from the force and was charged yesterday misconduct in public office about the alleged affair with the prisoner.

The student officer, who works in the Bradford district, will appear at York Magistrates Court. Court on March 7.

Chief Constable Greenwood has worked for West Yorkshire Police for almost twenty years.

The Bradford Following the claims, the district commander has been suspended with full salary.

One source said everyone was “shocked” by the “family man” suspension.

The force said, “A West Yorkshire Student police officer has been charged with misconduct in public office.

PC Caitlin Howarth, 24, who works in Bradford District, will appear at York Magistrates Court on March 7.

“The indictment relates to a relationship with a reporting association with criminal connections. She is currently suspended.”
