Nicky Kyrgios has withdrawn from Wimbledon this year, on the eve of the start of the prestigious grass court competition.
Last year’s men’s finalist was due to kick-start his Wimbledon adventure in a first-round match against Belgium’s David Goffin on Monday, but has now confirmed he will not feature.
Kyrgios posted an emotional statement to his Instagram late on Sunday, explaining that a wrist injury has ruled him out of competing.
