The Sun can reveal the gang also has a chapter Gloucester.

The Gloucester chapter is known as the 'Riders' and uses the same offensive symbols as their Nazi-inspired Kiwi forebears.

Members of the bastard mafia salute by shouting the Nazi salute – 'Sieg Heil' or 'Sieg f***** Heil', and pull the 'Shakasign with their thumb and pinky finger.

Some members even tattoo their faces with the swastika or words, such as 'Mighty bastard crowd' or 'Startling'.

The Horsemen also use the same emblem: a red and black English bulldog with a steel Wehrmacht helmet.

Mongrel Mob members in New Zealand keep large XL Bully style dogs for protection.

It is understood the gang have been in Britain for around a decade, but recently they have started posting about themselves on social media.

Their numbers appear to be growing with videos of the Gloucester Riders patching in new members.

Other clips show group cycle rides around Britain, and the gangsters even do cancer charity walks.

One member, known as “Willdogg,” has been with the group for four years and posts on YouTube and TikTok.

Members of the New Zealand Mafia comment on the messages and encourage the Riders to “keep recruiting”.

A 2023 clip shows a patch ceremony of 'Tassels dog' and 'Nic Dog' with the pair each drinking a boot full of beer, known as a 'shoeish'.

One supporter said: “Congratulations tassels SFSH brothers arragh.”

Although the ranks in New Zealand are mainly Maori and Pacific Islanders, the members in Gloucester are English.

In 2019, a senior Mongrel Mob UK member presented his prized patch to a rival English gang after they arrived at his home and demanded he do so.

That kind of intimidation of a senior member would lead to turf wars in New Zealand.

New Zealand Herald Investigations Reporter and author Jared Savage said New Zealand's Mongrel Mob has committed “terrible acts of violence against rival gangs”.

He said the Mongrel Mob follows an ideology known as “mongrelism,” which is characterized by “lawlessness and extreme antisocial behavior.”

Nazi iconography is “a calculated 'f*** you' to society,” he said.

“There have been many gang-related murders committed by police [New Zealand] Mongrel Mob in recent years.

“Some members of the [New Zealand] The Mongrel Mob is also heavily involved in organized crime, particularly the production and supply of methamphetamine.”

Savage said he was not surprised to hear that a chapter had spread to Britain, as other chapters had been found in Australia and Fiji in recent years.

He said: 'I assume someone from the NZ Mongrel Mob built up a relationship with them along the way and then gave the blessing to set up a chapter in Britain.

“If not, the consequences of posing as a member of the Mongrel Mob and wearing a patch would be dire.

Savage has just published two books about New Zealand's gang world, including the new one Gangster paradise.

'Most people who join gangs in New Zealand come from broken homes, often with horrific childhoods full of abuse, neglect and trauma.

“This can lead to addiction and mental health problems as adults.

“They are marginalized, outsiders in society, and join gangs like the Mongrel Mob to find a sense of belonging or brotherhood.

“This intense loyalty to the patch can in turn lead to horrific acts of violence against rival gangs, which we see regularly in New Zealand.”

Scottish backpacker Karen Goel was beaten to death in 2008 by a 14-year-old boy who tried to impress the gang.

Jahche Broughton was at a school smashing windows with a baseball bat in the town of Taupo when he came across Broughton returning from a night out and killed her.

In 2023, Broughton was denied parole.

Karen's father Brian Aim vowed to fight any release bid from Broughton before he died.

He told The Scot “I think that he [Broughton] was angry and Karen happened to be walking by. I would still like to know why he did it.”

Before his death, Brian said the killer should not be released “for the safety of the New Zealand public”.

Comedian Sir Billy Connolly was once forced onto a side street in Wellington, New Zealand, and interrogated by members of the Mongrel Mob after they took offense to his Hells Angels-style motorcycle jacket.

He was eventually allowed to continue on his way after convincing the bikers who he was and how he got his jacket.

Mongrel Mob Riders Gloucester declined to comment.

Who is the Bastard Mob?

Founded in 1962, the Mongrel Mob is New Zealand's largest and most notorious gang.

There are more than 30 different branches of the gang, which is a loose confederation rather than a highly centralized organization.

It was founded in the eastern region of the North Island called Hawke's Bay, but has now spread throughout the world.

The gang's symbols and salutes are intended to be as offensive as possible to the public and to discourage the Nazis.

But they are not white supremacists, as the gang is largely made up of Maori and Pasifika.

Author and journalist Jared Savage said many come from broken homes and have experienced severe trauma, leading to intense loyalty among the gang.
