Nathan Cleary was spotted solo on Friday after a loved-up reunion with girlfriend Mary Fowler at Sydney airport earlier this week.

The NRL superstar, 26, was all smiles as he took his dog for a walk before running errands.

Interested onlookers may have wondered where Mary was after the couple’s intimate embrace at the airport on Tuesday.

Love was in the air earlier this week as Cleary greeted Matildas forward Fowler with a kiss as she returned to Australia for the holidays.

Cleary had a big smile as he picked up his 20-year-old girlfriend from the arrivals hall after she landed from Dubai.

Fowler wore light blue jeans, a button-up shirt and a black hat for her long-haul flight, while Cleary wore black shorts and a brown T-shirt.

It was the first time the loved-up couple had seen each other since November 2, when Cleary said goodbye to his girlfriend at Perth Airport after watching her score in the Matildas’ 3-0 win over Chinese Taipei.

Daily Mail Australia exclusively confirmed their relationship a day earlier when they were captured on an intimate park date together.

It’s been six long weeks since that sunny morning in Perth when Fowler returned to Britain to play for Manchester City, while Cleary enjoyed his off-season with a trip to the United States.

Cleary, who is recovering from a knee injury, returned to pre-season training with reigning champions Penrith Panthers earlier this month.

It’s been a whirlwind year for Fowler. She helped guide Australia to a memorable place in the Women’s World Cup semi-final, while playing a key role in City’s Women’s Super League title.

‘It’s been an incredible year. It’s hard to put into words how big it’s been,” said Fowler, who has emerged as one of Australia’s main attacking weapons, especially with Sam Kerr injured.

‘I didn’t expect that (for Australians to be so involved in women’s football).

‘I think most of us went to the World Cup not expecting that, but that was great.

“I think that was the best part of the World Cup, to see how many people got behind us and how together Australia came together.”
