“The whole idea of the show was to create a series of characters who all coexist in a city and individually go through the storylines of the different books and then intersect,” Letterman explained in November 2023. “So just by the nature of making it [a] serialized [series], we were inventing our entire world and characters. But when we reapplied it to the books, it basically meant leaving out the premise and the totems.”
Stoller, meanwhile, abandoned the decision to have multiple mysteries unfold at once.
“The books stand alone. So once we put it into series, it kind of disappeared from the books. But the tone of the books wasn’t about talking down to children. That was something we really wanted to make sure of this season: that the horror aspects happened because the characters made them happen. They weren’t just victims of something.”
Goosebumps initially a star Isa Briones, Ana Yi Puig, Zack Morris, Miles McKenna And Will price as the show’s protagonists. However, when the series was renewed four months later, Disney confirmed that there would be a cast and story shake-up.
