Security breach by Parliament: MHA orders inquiry, committee to submit report ‘at the earliest’

In a security breach in Lok Sabha, two men jumped into the House from the visitors’ gallery carrying canisters, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram said.

New Delhi: The Interior Ministry on Wednesday ordered an investigation into a security breach at parliament. MHA posted on An inquiry committee has been constituted under the leadership of Anish Dayal Singh, DG, CRPF, with members from other security agencies and experts.”

“The Commission of Inquiry will investigate the reasons for breaches of parliament’s security, identify errors and recommend further action. The committee will submit its report at the earliest with recommendations, including suggestions for improving security in Parliament,” the X said.

The Lok Sabha Secretary General has written to the Home Ministry seeking a high-level inquiry into the entire incident. At the same time, two people, including a woman, spotted colored gas and shouted slogans outside the Parliament buildings. Earlier in the day, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram said two men jumped into the House from the visitors’ gallery with canisters in their hands.
