Piers Morgan says Kate Middleton ‘could be hiding something’
Piers Morgan weighs in That of Princess Kate Middleton recent Mother’s Day photoshop failed – and believes it could be a signal the royals are ‘hiding something’.
“Why does Princess Catherine, who is recovering from abdominal surgery, spend time hunched over Photoshop making amateur edits of official portraits when they literally have servants to do it. Most baffling of all: why not edit the missing wedding ring? Morgan, 58, asked OK! Magazine on Thursday, March 14.
Morgan referenced the Sunday, March 10, portrait of Kate, 42, and her three children, Prince George10, Princess Charlotte8, and Prince Louis5, who was taken by her husband, Prince William, marking the first official image of the princess since her abdominal surgery in January. Shortly after it was posted to Kensington Palace’s social media accounts, fans noticed the image had been edited.
“Kate needs a break, I agree, but it was their decision to release this photo and it has led to even more conspiracy theories,” Morgan added. “On one level [the edited picture] It could be trivial – she could be doing well and doing well, and she tried to do something to correct the conspiracies but was wrong – or it could be that they are hiding something.”
Morgan, who knew William’s mother, the late Princess Diana — and has apparently had access to the royal family over the years — noted that the mysterious photo could hint at something more serious going on behind the scenes.
“I’ve been told all kinds of things that if even half of it is true, it’s quite alarming what’s happening,” he claimed. “I don’t know what to believe, and neither do we – we’re not there.”
Speculation about Kate’s lengthy recovery time arose in mid-January, when the palace revealed she would undergo a ‘planned’ abdominal operation and step back from public duties until Easter.
After not being seen for weeks, Kate was seen in a car with her mother. Carole Middelton, earlier this month, according to a photo obtained by TMZ at the time. She was later seen in a car with William on March 11 as he headed for Commonwealth Day. (She did not attend the event and was instead reportedly on her way to a private appointment.)
Kate’s photoshopped image – which has since been given a ‘warning label’ on Instagram – only continued to fuel rumors about her whereabouts.
A day after the image was posted online, Kate discussed the photo controversy via X, writing: “Like many amateur photographers, I experiment with editing from time to time. I wanted to apologize for any confusion.”
On Thursday, March 14, William, 41, spoke about Kate while he was decorating cookies at the new charity WEST Youth Zone, saying Kate was “the artsy one” but did not discuss her health or the photo.
