Piers Morgan slams 'classless' West Ham fans during Arsenal match

WEST HAM fans have been sensationally branded 'classless' after some appeared to boo returning star Declan Rice.

Rice joined Arsenal this summer for a club record transfer fee of £105 million after leading the Hammers to victory in the Europa Conference League last season.

As in East London, Rice excelled in North London.

But on his return to the London Stadium, Rice was booed by some of the home support.

However, this did not go down well with the Arsenal fans, who rallied to defend the 25-year-old.

This included outspoken Gooner Piers Morgan, who said: “So classless are West Ham fans that they boo Declan Rice incessantly after all he has done for their club.”

Another fan said: “Declan Rice, the man who brought West Ham their first trophy in decades and subsequently over £100m in transfer fees, is booed by the West Ham fans when he touches the ball. Supporters are stupid.”

A third: “Blasting Rice for winning them a cup and getting £105 million pounds? Idiots.”

A fourth said: “It's very strange that Declan Rice is being booed by West Ham, he has done so much for the club.”

A fifth added: “I can still believe Rice is being booed.”

However, a pair of assists from a corner and a free-kick from Rice for Arsenal's opener and third goals in the first half left Morgan feeling rosy on social media.

Morgan came in with a slew of boo-related puns.
