UP Yoddhas hosted an all-round masterclass to overpower Haryana Steelers 57-27 at the EKA Arena by TransStadia

New Delhi: The UP Yoddhas put on an all-round masterclass to overpower the Haryana Steelers 57-27 at TransStadia’s EKA Arena on Wednesday. A complete team performance was highlighted by the brilliance of raiders Surender Gill (13 points) & Pardeep Narwal (12 points) and defender Sumit (8 points).

The opening minutes of the game were marked by the two sides exchanging points at regular intervals, albeit the Yoddhas did so via contact points and the Steelers relied on bonus points. With their numbers rapidly dwindling, the Steelers’ Ashish performed a SUPER TACKLE on Pardeep Narwal to help his team stay in the match.

Despite that brief resistance, the Yoddhas were too good on the offensive front, and within minutes they gave the Steelers the first ALL OUT of the game and took a commanding 12-6 lead.

Despite a brief regrouping by the Steelers, the game followed a similar pattern, with the Yoddhas, and Surender Gill in particular, being completely dominant. Almost single-handedly, Gill committed a second ALL OUT to the Steelers with four minutes of the first half remaining, giving them a 29-14 lead at halftime.

A third and fourth ALL OUT followed within the first 8 minutes of the second half. With a huge lead of 25 points, the Yoddhas seemed on their way to an easy victory. Gill’s brilliance in attack was perfectly complemented by the brilliant tackling of Sumit and Nitesh Kumar and it seemed there was nothing the Steelers could do to curb the surge.

The Yoddhas continued to relentlessly pressure their opponents and eventually pulled off a huge 30-point win.
