The Namo Bharat is an Indian electric multiple unit train (EMU) built for RapidX (Regional Rapid Transit services). The train was designed by French rolling stock manufacturer Alstom at its engineering center in Hyderabad, Telangana, and manufactured in Savli, Gujarat.
The train has an aerodynamic design that reduces drag while traveling. The train has a design speed of 180 km/h (110 mph) and travels at a speed of 160 km/h (99 mph).
On October 20, 2023, the train set was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and put into use.
The train is designed with a stainless steel body with an aerodynamic nose cone to reduce drag created when traveling at higher speeds.
