PM Modi visits Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, Kerala on January 2 and 3; Here’s the agenda

On January 2, the Prime Minister will reach Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu where he will be the chief guest at the 38th convocation ceremony of Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli.

PM Modi’s visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep on January 2 and 3. On January 2, the Prime Minister will reach Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu where he will be the chief guest at the 38th convocation ceremony of Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. At a public program in Tiruchirappalli, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and inaugurate the nation and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 19,850 crore covering the aviation, railways, roads, oil and gas, shipping and higher education sectors. .

From there he will reach Agatti, Lakshadweep, where he will address a public function. On January 3, Prime Minister Kavaratti will reach Lakshadweep where he will dedicate himself to the nation and lay the foundation stone of several development projects in the areas of telecommunications, drinking water, solar energy and healthcare, among others.

At the 38th convocation ceremony of Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, the Prime Minister will present awards to the meritorious students of the university and address the gathering on the occasion.

During the public program in Tiruchirappalli, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new terminal building at Tiruchirappalli International Airport. The new terminal has state-of-the-art amenities and features for the convenience of passengers.

The Prime Minister will dedicate several railway projects to the country, including the doubling of the 41.4-km Salem-Magnesite Junction-Omalur-Mettur Dam section; doubling of the 160 km rail route from Madurai – Tuticorin; and three railway electrification projects namely Tiruchchirappalli-Manamadurai-Virudhunagar; Virudhunagar – Tenkasi link; Sengottai – Tenkasi Junction – Tirunelveli-Tiruchendur.

Prime Minister Modi will also dedicate the Demonstration Fast Reactor Fuel Reprocessing Plant (DFRP) at the Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam, to the country. The DFRP, developed at a cost of Rs. 400 crore is equipped with a unique design, which is unique in the world and is capable of reprocessing both carbide and oxide fuels coming out of the fast reactors. Designed entirely by Indian scientists, it represents a crucial step towards the construction of large, commercial fuel reprocessing facilities for fast reactors.

Among other projects, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the 500-bed boys’ hostel ‘AMETHYST’ of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) – Tiruchirappalli.

In Lakshadweep, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the nation, dedicate himself to the nation and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth over Rs 1,150 crore.

The Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection (KLI – SOFC) project will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. This will lead to an increase in internet speed by more than 100 times (from 1.7 Gbps to 200 Gbps). The special submarine OFC will bring a paradigm shift in the communications infrastructure in Lakshadweep Islands, enabling faster and more reliable internet services, telemedicine, e-governance, education initiatives, digital banking, use of digital currencies, digital literacy, etc.

The Prime Minister will dedicate the Low Temperature Thermal Desalination Plant (LTTD) in Kadmat to the country. This provides 1.5 lakh liters of clean drinking water every day. He will also dedicate the Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) in all households of Agatti and Minicoy Islands to the nation. Availability of drinking water has always been a challenge in Lakshadweep Islands. Being a coral island, the availability of groundwater is very limited. These drinking projects will also help strengthen the islands’ tourism capacity, leading to more local employment opportunities.
