Although plastic can take up to 1,000 years to decompose, it is still widely used in many packaging.
But even though items like oranges and bananas have built-in peels, this hasn’t stopped manufacturers around the world from putting extra plastic around them.
The ones at Bored Panda collected the most embarrassing packaging decisions noticed by consumers around the world.
This includes taking out bread to be individually wrapped, as well as putting a satsuma in a plastic jar for no apparent reason.
In no time, a customer’s groceries were placed in three large cardboard boxes, even though they were all ordered from the same warehouse.
