Adorable moment as Prince George exchanges glances with William as they enjoy carols at Kate’s Christmas concert

Prince William shared a loving look with Prince George during the annual Christmas carol concert held at Westminster Abbey last night.

George, 10, looked up at his father as actor Jim Broadbent read JRR Tolkien’s The Father Christmas Letters. William then gave his son a quick smile before turning his attention back to the service.

While attending the concert, the eldest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales posted letters to children less fortunate than himself, along with his younger siblings, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

However, it was Louis who stole the nation’s heart when he made his debut at his mother’s annual Christmas carol concert last night. Fans went wild as the young royal’s eyes lit up during the service.

The five-year-old, who was said to have ‘Christmas magic in his eyes’, was seen nudging his mother Kate, whispering ‘mummy’ and pointing at Mr Broadbent, 74, as he read to the audience.

This year’s Together At Christmas service – supported by the Royal Foundation – was held to honor those working to support babies, young children and families across the UK.

George, Charlotte and Louis stood proudly alongside their parents – as well as other senior royals – as they held candles and sang Christmas carols in the banquet hall filled with 1,500 people.

Linked to Kate’s Shaping Us campaign, the service showed ‘the hope of new life and why it is so important to build supportive, nurturing worlds around children and adults in their lives’.

While it was filmed on December 8, the full concert was broadcast to the public last night on ITV.

Louis was previously too young to attend his mother’s annual Christmas concert, but his debut did not disappoint. Royal fans said they loved how excited the five-year-old was about reading The Father Christmas Letters.

In another adorable moment at the concert, caught on camera earlier this month, the little boy was seen how brutally his sister’s candle blew out during the concert, leaving his siblings in trouble.

The mischievous royal blew out Charlotte’s candle as their mother Kate laughed. He was depicted puffing up his cheeks in an attempt to extinguish his older sister’s candle as she smiled.

The Welsh children were on their best behavior as they greeted members of the clergy in the abbey’s Lady Chapel.

Louis looked shy as his older brother and sister smiled, shook hands and said hello to the priest.

George looked a double of his father wearing a smart suit, while his younger brother wore a navy blue button-up jacket, slim-leg trousers and blue suede Chelsea boots.

Charlotte, meanwhile, wore a £180 burgundy double-breasted wool coat from Trotters.

At the opening of the ceremony, the Princess of Wales, dressed in a monochrome outfit, welcomed the audience watching from home on Christmas Eve to revisit the service and spoke about the meaning of Christmas.

“Christmas is a time when we come together and celebrate the birth of a newborn baby,” she said.

‘The arrival of each baby is a precious and memorable time, bringing us together to reflect on new beginnings and bringing hope for the future.

“During our earliest interactions, relationships and experiences, with those who love us, even before we are born, we lay the foundation for so much on which that future will depend.

‘But only by valuing and supporting the vital role of adults in a child’s world can we hope to make a difference.’

Prince William also took part in the service and gave a reading from the Gospel of Luke.

Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, was pictured with the family of five.

Princess Beatrice, her stepson Christopher Mapelli Mozzi and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were also in attendance, as were Princess Eugenie, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips and his daughters Savannah and Isla.

Although the King and Queen Camilla were not present at the event, they donated Christmas trees from Windsor Great Park to decorate Westminster Abbey, which were donated to the local community after the service.

Among the group of celebrities who greeted the family were singers Beverley Knight, Adam Lambert and musician Jacob Collier.

Kate’s sister Pippa and husband James Matthews were seen at the event, as were Lady Sarah Chatto and her husband Daniel Chatto.

Midwives, nursery teachers and baby bank volunteers were among the 1,500 people invited to the festive event, which thanked those who work to support children in their early years.
