Prince Harry and Michael Buble try curling at Invictus Training

With one year to go before the 2025 Invictus Games, Prince Harry took to the ice to try wheelchair curling next to it Michael Buble.

The 39-year-old Duke of Sussex was joined by the singer on the ice on Friday, February 16, the third and final day of the Invictus Games One Year To Go Winter Training Camp, held at the Hillcrest Community Center in Vancouver. While the two tried out the ice sport in wheelchairs, Meghan Markle her husband cheered from the sidelines next to Bublé's wife, Luisana Lopilato.

The Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry in 2014, is an international sporting event for wounded, injured and ill military personnel and veterans. Harry, a former captain in the British Armed Forces, was named by Hello! magazine at the event whether wheelchair curling was different from normal curling.

“Sitting is harder,” Harry confirmed in a video shared via Instagram.

Wheelchair curling wasn't the only sport Harry tried during his visit to Hillcrest Community Center. During the three days he was there, the royal family tried their hand at sit-skiing and a skeleton run, in which someone races their skeleton bobsleigh (or bobsleigh) face down and head first down a frozen track, similar to an ice luge . The Duchess of Sussex, 42, was seen taking a video on her phone as her husband ran past.

According to the Invictus games' official website, wheelchair curling, alpine skiing and skeleton are among several new sports to be added to the 2025 games, alongside snowboarding, cross-country skiing and biathlon. These are additions to the sports on which the Games were originally based: indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelchair rugby and wheelchair basketball.

The next cycle of the Invictus Games will be held in Vancouver in 2025, which will be the first year the games will have winter sports. As part of the celebration, Prince Harry gave a speech to the crowd, noting that the 2024 training camp marked the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games Foundation.

“For those of you who don't know, it's a logistical nightmare to get this done, and the team succeeded and we now have a year to all work together and give people incredible – in some cases examples, life-changing experiences for these competitors and their families,” Harry said in his speech per City and country magazine.

“Each of you inspires me and you inspire us every day,” he said Reserve author continued. “So please continue to be there to support each other. The 2025 Invictus Games will be held in Vancouver from February 8 to 16.

The trip to Canada follows Harry's short visit to England.
