Prince Louis’s antics have nothing to do with Prince William’s at his age

Prince Louis once again stole the show at Trooping the Color over the weekend, and as one surfaced clip has shown, he may have learned his funny balcony antics from his dad.

The young royal, five, waved energetically to fans during the traditional balcony performance at Buckingham Palace to mark the King’s official birthday.

A clip shared by the Instagram Royal Children’s account at the time of the coronation revealed that the Prince of Wales was just as animated as his youngest son when he was the same age.

The adorable clip showed the king’s son as a five-year-old, standing on the balcony with his mother, the late Princess Diana, and his father, then Prince of Wales, at Trooping the Color 1987.

While the heir to the throne is now a polished member of the royal family, as a young boy he was up to exactly the same antics as his son, energetically waving and pointing to crowds and giving the planes the cutest military salute.

All eyes were on Prince Louis on Saturday as he put on an animated show fans have come to expect from him.

The budding royal waved, covered his ears and mimicked a motorcycle starting up while on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with his parents and siblings.

At one point, the young prince was seen screaming and pointing to the sky with enthusiasm, while his older siblings, Prince George, nine, and Princess Charlotte, eight, acted much more subdued.

These antics have made Louis a favorite among royal fans and have led to him standing out at every major royal event he’s attended since his late great-grandmother’s anniversary party last year.

However, it turns out that Prince William was just like his son when he was the same age, proving that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

An unearthed clip showed the heir to the throne as a young boy, attending Trooping the Color with the rest of the royal family.

You can see young William making funny faces, waving to crowds, yelling, pointing to the sky and even mimicking an archer throwing arrows at the sky.

Just as Kate Middleton had to gently tell her young son to curb his enthusiasm on Saturday, Princess Anne can be seen leaning over to her young cousin and whispering soothing words in his ear, as he proceeds to give a military salute.

Prince Louis regularly steals the show with his funny reactions and unfiltered poses.

The five-year-old was in good shape as he traveled to Horse Guards Parade in a carriage with Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 8, on Saturday.

They were joined by the Princess of Wales and Queen Camilla, but that didn’t stop Louis from pulling off his usual antics at the King’s Birthday Parade.

One moment, the youngest Welsh child was covering his nose and mouth in what is considered disgust, after catching a whiff of horse dung.

A photo of the unexpected moment showed the five-year-old pinching his nose with one of his hands.

Some 70 aircraft from the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force took part in the six-minute spectacle.

Crowds gathered below as the Hurricane and Spitfire jets took to the skies and hovered over Buckingham Palace.

Eighteen Typhoon fighter jets also belted out ‘CR’ for Charles Rex in a mesmerizing display – with ‘Rex’ referring to King in Latin.

They waved enthusiastically to thousands of spectators who gathered outside Buckingham Palace and on The Mall, as the King and Prince of Wales traveled on horseback.

Saturday marked the first time a monarch had ridden a horse at Trooping the Color since Queen Elizabeth’s Burmese horse carried her to the ceremony in 1986.
