Princess Eugenie has revealed her strong bond with her sister Princess Beatrice, but admitted ‘she’s annoying when she wants to be’.

The 33-year-old granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II opened up about their brother-sister relationship during a speech on the White Wine Question Time podcast, hosted by Kate Thornton.

“She’s annoying when she wants to be, and I’m really annoying to her, but we love each other, best friends,” Eugenie explained.

The royal mother of two is currently on maternity leave from her director role at Hauser & Wirth, splitting her time between the UK and Portugal, where husband Jack Brooksbank manages the sales and marketing team for the luxury resort CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club.

Yet she maintains frequent contact with sister Beatrice, Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at technology company Afiniti.

‘She is a great mother, I always call her for almost everything. ‘What should I do about this? What should I do about it?’. The same goes for my mother. Literally: constantly.’

The royal siblings were born two years apart, in 1988 and 1990 respectively, and are known for their close relationship.

Although the pair are often spotted at Mayfair clubs dressed to the nines, they swapped their heels for a more casual look, both wearing Wellington boots and beaming for the camera.

‘Beatrice and I, we’ve always had each other all our lives. We are the only ones who experience exactly the same thing as the other person at that exact moment as a girl – in our family, in our workplace, whatever it is. I think that’s extraordinary to think about,” Eugenie explained.

‘We are not twins, but you still go through life knowing exactly what the other is going through. She’s my big sissy, she’s a legend.’

Eugenie also opened up about the two sons she shares with Jack: August, two, and five-month-old Ernest.

She said: ‘My children are so wonderful. Augie is a two and a half year old stunner and only listens to me, I don’t know why. And Ernie laughs all the time, so they’re very easy-going and great guys.”

But the princess confessed that mealtime can be problematic for the young family. “There are other things that aren’t going well – feeding times are times when I’m tearing my hair out, but sleeping isn’t a problem at the moment,” she explained.

Elsewhere in the interview, Eugenie shared her fear of being duped online, and as a result she carefully plans all her social media posts and asks others for advice beforehand.

As a public figure, she also discussed her concerns that she may be sharing too much about her family life, making her think twice about how and when she posts a photo.

After growing up in the spotlight, Eugenie also revealed that people tell her she ‘looks better in real life’ after being photographed in awkward moments over the years.

The royal said: ‘I do my own Instagram and I find it the most stressful thing in the world. Before I post, I send a text to about five people asking if it’s okay, am I being screwed?’

Elsewhere in the interview, she joked about

Elsewhere in the interview, she joked about “terrible” photos taken in the past (pictured with Beatrice at Prince William’s wedding to Catherine Middleton in April 2011).

She recalled a time when she wrote “your” instead of “you” and was abused by Instagram users for her grammar mistake. “I panicked,” she remembers. “I’ve been very picky ever since.”

The princess added that she feels a responsibility to be respectful to her family in terms of what she shares on social media.

“I don’t want to overdo my children and my family life, I’m constantly looking for balance,” she said.

After growing up in the public eye, Eugenie joked about “terrible” photos of herself taken in the past.

“There have been some terribly ugly images of us coming out of bars,” she said. ‘People come up to me and say, ‘You look much better in real life.’

‘Beatrice and I, like many of our cousins, have had very difficult phases. I’m proud of my incredibly strange appearance.’
