Pro Kabaddi League 2023: Pardeep Narwal’s SUPER 10 takes over Yoddhas against Bengaluru Bulls

The one-point win over Bengaluru Bulls helped UP Yoddhas break their four-match winless streak.

Noida: UP Yoddhas broke a four-match winless streak as they defeated Bengaluru Bulls 34-33 at the Noida Indoor Stadium in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 match on Friday. Despite a slow start, Pardeep Narwal scored 10 points to help the home side cross the line in a match with slim margins. The Yoddhas were hoping that home advantage would turn around their weak fortunes, but in the opening minutes this looked unlikely. Early on, their talisman Pardeep Narwal appeared to be suffering, registering his first point on his ninth strike of the evening.

Fortunately, the Bulls had their own struggles. Both teams’ weaknesses were exposed midway through the half during a series of DO OR DIE attacks. The match came alive in the final minute of the half, as Pardeep Narwal followed up his first successful strike with two more in a row, reducing the Bulls to one player just as the half-time whistle blew.

The Yoddhas cleaned up right away at the start of the second half, creating the first ALL OUT to take an 18-14 lead. However, this did not deter the Bulls, who continued to come at the Yoddhas and ensured they were never able to increase their lead. Raid was matched by raid and tackles by smarter tackles.

Saurabh Nandal in particular was the architect of the Bulls defence, having made an impressive four successful tackles from five attempts in the final five minutes. Some clinical play saw the Yoddhas inflict a second ALL OUT on the Bulls to take a 33-26 lead with three minutes remaining.

Narwal sealed a SUPER 10 with a minute of the match remaining, but the Bulls refused to give up and came close to an all-important all-out in the final seconds. However, as it was, Sushil failed to get both Yoddhas players out to leave the Bulls one point short.
