Queen Letizia’s daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, were the picture of poise as they attended an awards ceremony in Girona yesterday.

Princess Leonor, 17, and Infanta Sofía, 16, looked cheerful as they attended the event at the Camiral Caldes de Malavella Hotel with their parents.

Princess Leonor, the first in line to the Spanish throne, wore an elegant teal dress with puffed sleeves.

She paired the flattering pleated dress with metallic heels and wore her locks in a simple low ponytail, which showed off her glitzy diamond earrings.

The future Queen of Spain opted for a more full make-up look, eyeliner, shimmery eye shadow and lip gloss.

Her sister, Sofia, wore a shimmering silver short-sleeved dress that was gathered at the waist.

Unlike her mother and sister, the teen wore sparkly strappy flat sandals and wore her brown hair in a long braid.

Their mother, Queen Letizia, 50, flaunted her slim figure in a simple back dress with a plunging neckline.

The outfit highlighted her toned biceps, as she clapped for others at the awards ceremony.

She also wore shiny heels to match her metallic purse and gold hoop earrings.

Like her eldest, Letizia also wore her hair in a low ponytail and went for her signature makeup look, with smoky eye shadow.

King Felipe, 55, looked smart in a suit and white striped shirt and opted to wear a teal tie to match Leonor’s outfit.

Leonor gave a speech at the event and took center stage as she prepared for a life in the spotlight.

There is an interest in identifying talented young people who can serve as role models for other young people – while launching programs to improve their employability.

Perhaps the Spanish king wanted to tie his gaze to that of his eldest to show the unity between the present and future monarch.

Leonor will begin her military training before the end of summer in August.

While many of her peers are going to university, the eldest daughter of King Felipe and Queen Letizia returns to Spain to start training.

Earlier this year, Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles confirmed Princess Leonor of Asturias’ next move in the Tatler society bible.

The training includes stints in the Armed Forces, Spanish Navy and Air Force.

In her speech in March, Ms. Robles affirmed, “In due course, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces will be a woman, and in recent years we have made a very significant effort to include women in the Armed Forces.”

Although Infanta Sofia is still a royal, she does not hold the title of princess because she is second born and therefore not the heir to the throne.

Before the award ceremony, the royals listened to the presentation of the AmplificARTE project, an initiative of the Princess of Girona Foundation, yesterday.

The family looked united as they all donned the color blue as they focused intently on what was being said.

The sibling duo made a rare joint appearance yesterday as they attended a workshop on innovation and creativity led by Spanish chef Ferran Adrià in Gironda in Spain’s Galicia region.

Leonor and Sofia attended the event unsupervised by their parents, suggesting they are one step closer to becoming Hispanic working royals.
