Queen Máxima and King Willem-Alexander showed themselves friendly today when they greeted the Belgian royal family during a visit to Brussels.

Arriving by train at Brussels South train station, Dutch Queen Máxima, 52, absolutely dazzled in a fitted pale gold jacket dress.

The mother-of-three wore her long blonde hair in a sophisticated bun, adding a wide-brimmed cream hat, diamond earrings and a three-strand necklace.

She completed her classic look by adding dark beige shoes and matching gloves.

Along with her husband, King Willem-Alexander, 56, who looked good in a royal blue suit with a crisp white shirt and pale blue tie, the two posed for photos as well-wishers flocked to greet them.

The husband and wife were welcomed by Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib before being taken away to greet King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium at the Royal Palace.

The foursome seemed delighted to see each other as King Willem-Alexander stopped to kiss Queen Mathilde’s gloved hand before wrapping her in an embrace.

The Belgian Queen looked stunning in a red strapless dress with a sheer overlay to cover her chest and long sleeves.

In addition to her look, Mathilde, 50, also sported delicate diamond earrings and a matching red hat with a sweet bow on the side.

Her husband, King Philippe, 63, looked sweet in a dark blue suit, white shirt and paisley-patterned tie.

Upon arrival at the Royal Palace, Queen Máxima and King Willem-Alexander were invited inside for a welcome ceremony.

Sitting at a table in the beautiful ballroom, the officials watched as the royal couple signed a book, watched by the Belgian king and queen.

After the ceremony, the King and Queen of the Netherlands will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in memory of all unknown Belgian soldiers who fell during the First World War.

Their action-packed day doesn’t end there, as Willem-Alexander and Máxima will visit the Federal Parliament of Belgium to speak with members of the Chamber of Representatives and the Senate before being given a tour of the building.

Tonight King Philippe will host a state banquet at the Castle of Laeken, where both heads of state will give a speech.

The tour of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima does not end here. On Wednesday, the King and Queen will travel to Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, Waterloo and Charleroi, before departing for Leuven and finishing in Antwerp.

The state visit aims to reaffirm the excellent ties between the two neighboring countries, which have strong historical, social and economic ties.

During the tour, the two royal couples will visit many different centers, museums and companies that are working on a sustainable future in which energy is green and affordable.
