RHOBH recap: Kyle Richards lost 'trust' in Mauricio Umansky
Kyle Richards admitted that confidence, or lack thereof, was the main reason for her and Mauricio Umanski's divorce.
“Things happened that made me lose my confidence and I couldn't recover from,” Kyle, 55, revealed in the final minutes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 finale, which premiered on Wednesday, February 21.
Things between Kyle and Mauricio came to a head during the finale after news broke that they had split after 27 years together. (We weekly confirmed their split in July 2023, People was the first to report the news.)
Kyle remembered being with “Mau and the girls” when the first story came out. The couple shares three daughters, Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15. (Kyle also shares Farrah, 35, with ex-husband Guraish Aldjufrie.)

“Mau was really focused on who was telling the story and I was more focused on how it affected all of us,” Kyle recalls. “It felt like my whole life was over at that moment. Life as I knew it.”
In a public statement released after the split, Kyle and Mauricio denied there was any “wrong behavior” in their relationship, seemingly citing cheating rumors. Kyle emphasized this during a conversation with Erika Jayne that was also seen during Wednesday's episode. Mauricio also joked that she was the center of the cheating rumors. (Kyle has denied that they were more than just friends Morgan Wade while Mauricio has repeatedly shut down cheating rumors over the years.)
Perhaps the most heartbreaking part of Kyle and Mauricio's divorce came when they had to talk to their children. Portia burst into tears as she hugged her mother.
“We haven't told you everything because we're trying to protect you and then suddenly you're a little bit blinded by this public news,” Mauricio told his daughters. Kyle added, “We haven't talked about divorce. Just so you know.”
Alexia asked her parents what they planned to do in the future. Kyle explained that they “take up space” to fix things.
“We are not broken just bent. We are a very strong family and always will be,” Kyle added as the cameras panned to her daughters who all wiped tears from their faces.
“I've come to the realization that there's a good chance we won't end up together,” said the RHOBH the star said during her confessional. It looks like questions about the status of her and Mauricio's relationship will continue to arise when part one of the RHOBH The season 13 reunion airs on Wednesday, February 28.
