New Delhi: Kolkata: Star Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant will return to action from the next IPL season, said Sourav Ganguly, director of cricket at Delhi Capitals.
Pant, the Delhi Capitals captain, was left clean-shaven after his car hit a divider and burst into flames in a terrifying accident in December last year.
After suffering multiple injuries, Pant was back on his feet after 40 days and on Thursday he joined his teammates during the Delhi Capitals training session at the Jadavpur University Salt Lake Campus grounds.

‘He’s fine now. He will play in the IPL next season,” Ganguly told reporters while giving an update on Pant.
Ganguly, the former India captain, said Pant is here on a three-day visit to strategize for team building ahead of the IPL auctions scheduled for December 19 in Dubai.

Australian opener David Warner led DC in Pant’s absence last season, finishing second from bottom.
“However, Rishabh will not practice here. There is still time for him to practice. By January (2024), he will get even better,” Ganguly said.
“We talked about the team. He’s the captain, so he gave his opinion on the upcoming auction. That’s why he came here, to round out certain aspects of the team.”
Pant last played for India in the Test against Bangladesh in Mirpur in December last year.
