Golden ball chance

John Higgins was ready for what would be a sensational break in his duel with Mark Williams.

The Scot left the cue ball too close to the yellow when he came at the colors alone and was unable to convert.

Even opponent Mark Williams was nervous for him as he chased the £400,000 payday.

Higgins told EuroSport: “I couldn’t actually feel my feet, arms and legs!

“I walked past Mark and even he said his palms were sweating just looking at it!

“It was an incredible feeling, but disappointing. I gave it a good try.

“I was gone, just thinking happy thoughts!”
