That includes Emily Probst, who ordered a ball gown from fast fashion giant Shein and was sent a dress that looked “not even close” to the photos.

“I guess this is what I get when I use Shein,” she said on Facebook.

Emily picked a dress with a satin skirt and a sleeveless mesh bodice decorated with glitter and gemstones.

In a strange turn of events, she was given a short-sleeved gown studded with sequins.

The only similarity was the length of the dresses and the soft pink color.

“It's not even close,” noted Hanka Červinková.

“The original has barely any sequins and the one you received is drowning in them,” Maricella Duval added.

“How does that make sense?

“I would email customer service.”

Sarah Nagy joked that the dress “isn't that bad if you're going to be the mother of the bride in the 1990s.”

However, some shoppers were adamant there had been confusion with orders and insisted the disparity in the designs must be “a genuine mistake”.

“I think they sent you the wrong dress,” Julie Gardner suggested.

'I've never had a problem with Shein.

“But I've never ordered formal dresses from them either, so I'm not sure.”

Samy Niegut echoed the same sentiment.

“I never had any problems with Shein,” she wrote.

“That seems like a legitimate mistake, like they sent you the wrong dress.

“I would send them an email.

“They're usually great when something's wrong.”
