‘Joyce was wearing a large gold pyramid-shaped ring when he punched the man in the face, causing significant injury due to its size and shape accelerated by force and the series of punches he received.

‘I am pleased that Joyce will now be behind bars as punishment for his actions and I hope he takes this time to reflect on the impact of his actions.’

Joyce’s father John, 63, was also sentenced to an 18-month community order for assault occasioning actual bodily harm for his involvement in the attack.

The family are one of the most high-profile members of Britain’s traveler community.
