M&S shoppers go wild for fruit that 'tastes like white chocolate'

SUPERMARKET shoppers are loving a white chocolate flavored fruit that has been returned to Marks & Spencer.

The not-so-naughty treat – a white pearl strawberry – was released exclusively to M&S last year and shoppers are ecstatic to see it's back.

The news was posted to the 'New Foods UK' Facebook group, where UK foodies often post newly released treats, offers and favorite dishes that have been re-released and available for purchase.

The message reads: “White Pearl Strawberries are back at M&S.”

Since it went live yesterday, more than 1,000 people have commented on it, and double that number have commented on the post – with one person saying they immediately thought of “white chocolate”.

One user said: “They are really tasty, my mum bought some recently and they taste really good.”

And a second user said: “They are so pretty, they just taste like the red ones, nice and sweet.”

A third said: “This is a desire I didn't know I had.”

And a fourth said: “These are amazing.”

While a fifth user said: “I immediately thought of white chocolate.”

However, some were disappointed last year when they couldn't find one in their local Marks & Spencer, but are hoping to get their hands on a box of the £4 treat this year before they disappear again.

One woman, who struggled to find the fruit last year, said: “I really want to try these and I did last time but I couldn't find them anywhere in Nottingham.”

And a second user said: “I couldn't find this in any stores last time so I'll check it out this time.”

It's not the only snack that Brits would like to see on the shelves again this year.

Cadbury recently relaunched its favorite 'Caramilk' treat, but punters may have to get used to the new format.

Last month, Quality Street fans were on high alert when Iceland cut the price of Quality Street Favorites from £1.25 to 75p.

Those with a sweet tooth were also seen running to Farmfoods to buy bulk bags of 500g Cadbury Wispa pieces for £2.50.
