The image showed a photo of the popular 18g Protein Pudding’s on supermarket shelves, with a large ‘price drop’ sign underneath.

But what people quickly noticed was the deal Asda offered on the healthy puddings.

Currently priced at £2.50 each, customers were expecting a great deal on the GetPro 20g Protein Mousse Chocolate Flavor 200g.

But on the special offer sign, the original price had been crossed out and replaced with the exact same listing of £2.50.

The apparent mistake left shoppers in stitches online after a photo of the supermarket’s howler monkey was posted on Facebook to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group.

“Reduced from 2.50 to 2.50,” read the caption of a group member.

It left fellow users very amused, with some even making their own jokes about the situation.

“The cost of living has gotten so out of hand that keeping prices the same is now considered a sellout, lol,” one laughed.

“Great offer, I got 10 for the special price!!!!!” another commented.

A third person said: “What a bargain!! Must be the best I’ve ever seen.”

One person even pointed out that it was more concerning that an employee had left it unnoticed.

“The worrying thing is that one of the employees undoubtedly made this up,” they said.

Shoppers were also left in the lurch after a bargain store decided to sell Prime energy drinks for just 50 cents each.

BrandMax in Shirebrook, Nottinghamshire, sold the bottles of drinks at a deep discount, with customers joking that “no one wants to buy them”.

Asda was also mocked by shoppers after a major mistake was spotted in the store on a mother’s birthday card.

The card, which cost £2.50, left people questioning whether it was serious and whether there was any “quality control”.
