Singer Monica appeared to faint during her concert in Houston, Texas on Sunday, December 30.

The 43-year-old artist is said to have fainted at the side of the stage TMZ.

She was carried away by a crew member, while fans on X, formerly Twitter, claimed she was taken by ambulance.

Monica has mitral valve prolapse, which means the flap that separates the upper and lower chambers of your heart does not close properly.

In addition, the singer also has high blood pressure.

In a 2016 Huffington Post article, her health problem was described in detail.

Her heart problem started at the age of 18 while on tour.

She was singing her hit Angel of Mine during a tour stop in Washington DC when she began to lose consciousness.

“Everything for me basically started going from color to black and white, fading in and out,” she said.

“I walked to the side of the stage to ask for help and fell into the arms of one of our staffers.”

At the time, Monica went to several doctors to see if they could find the cause, and was eventually diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse.

Monica was reportedly hospitalized for almost a month before returning to tour.

Monica is a mother of three children.

She has two sons with ex-fiancé Rodney ‘Rocko’ Hill, whom she dated on and off from 2003 to 2010.

She has sons Rodney, 19, and Romelo, 16.

Monica has a daughter named Laiyah, 10, with ex-husband Shannon Brown, an NBA player.

They were married for eight years until she filed for divorce in March 2019.

Monica’s career began at the age of 11 in 1991, after she was discovered by music producer Dallas Austin.

she sang a Whitney Houston song: Greatest Love Of All.

In July 1995, she released her debut album Miss Thang, which included the song For You I Will – which was also featured on the Space Jam soundtrack.

In 1998, her duet with Brandy – That Boy Is Mine – became the biggest hit of the year.

It was on her second album called That Boy Is Mine.

She next appeared on TV in the shows Living Single, Beverly Hills 90210 and Brak Presents The Brak Show starring Brak.

Her film debut came in 2000 in the MTV Films project Love Song.

Her later albums include All Eyes on Me in 2002, After The Storm in 2003, The Makings of Me in 2006, Standing Still in 2010, New Life in 2012 and Code Red in 2015.

According to her website, her next concert is on Saturday, January 13 in Tallahassee, Florida, with several tour stops afterward.
