Sonu shines again as Gujarat Giants beat Bengaluru Bulls in a Humdinger

Sonu once again emerged as the best player for the Giants with 12 points in the match.

Ahmedabad, December 3, 2023: The Gujarat Giants played a nail-biting match against Bengaluru Bulls at TransStadia’s EKA Arena on Sunday. Both sides continued to trade leads throughout the game until the Giants were able to gain the lead in the final few minutes and win the game 34-31. Sonu once again emerged as the best player for the Giants with 12 points in the match.

Neeraj Narwal produced a brilliant strike in the first minute of the match as the Bulls took a 3-0 lead. Moments later, Bharat supported his compatriot and reduced the Giants to just two members on the mat. However, Mohammad Nabibakhsh made a SUPER TACKLE to help the Giants stay in the match in the 5th minute. Sonu picked up two raid points shortly afterwards as the Giants leveled the score at 5-5.

Then the Giants and Bulls fought a neck-and-neck battle as the scores tied at 9-9 in the 11th minute. But Vikash Kandola pulled off a beautiful strike to reduce the Giants to just one member on the mat. Moments later, the Bulls tackled Parteek Dahiya and inflicted an ALL OUT to take a decent lead at 14-11. The Bulls’ defensive unit continued to shine, helping the team race away with a big lead at 20-14 near the end of the first half.

Sonu pulled off a SUPER RAID in the opening minutes of the second half and narrowed the gap between the two teams. Moments later, the Giants tackled Bharat and closed in on the Bulls’ score. However, Vishal tackled Nabibakhsh and helped the Bulls extend their lead in the 25th minute. But the Giants kept fighting and took the lead at 24-23 after inflicting an ALL OUT in the 27th minute. Kandola made a fantastic substitute in the 31st minute, but the Giants were still ahead 26-24.

However, Bharat made a raid and Neeraj Narwal grabbed a tackle point to help the Bulls regain the lead at 28-27 in the 36th minute. But Rakesh pulled off a brilliant strike and tackled Bharat to help the Giants take the lead at 32-30 in the 39th minute. The home team played its cards perfectly in the last seconds of the match and walked off the mat as the winner.
