King Charles is known to rely on a pared-down monarchy, and there’s no question that the Duchess of Edinburgh is at the center of his plans for the future, a royal expert claimed.

So said former BBC correspondent Jennie Bond Okay magazine the mother-of-two has the “common touch” thanks to her “normal life” before marrying into the royal family.

And certainly her philanthropic efforts have not gone unnoticed by King Charles, as she is both an asset among senior royals and his “secret weapon.”

“It’s so much clearer now that Sophie is an important member of the roster of working royals,” Jennie said. “I think people really took to her heart, especially after she showed her obvious grief over her loss Prince Philip and the queen.’

The expert adds that the relationship between the Duchess and her in-laws is close.

The former PR girl was a close ally of the Queen after her husband’s death, and the two regularly enjoyed horse riding and movies together.

Jennie says her perceived “common touch” is a result of the normal life she enjoyed before marrying the reigning monarch’s youngest sibling.

She added, “Sophie is definitely one of the show’s new female stars — elegant, engaging and empathetic.”

Sophie, who has been married to Prince Edward for 24 years, was also seen by the late Queen as the safest hands of The Firm.

The senior royal is the patron of over 70 charities and organisations, including Childline, and was recently spotted putting her best foot forward at Shooting Star Children’s Hospice in London.

She is said to have “beamed” when she got creative with children during a craft session during her visit.

Sophie read to the children and even joined in decorating cookies on her previous visits.

Because she has a strong personal interest in the services for people with disabilities and young people, she has been committed to Shooting Star Children’s Hospices for many years.

In 2002, Sophie officially opened their hospice in Guildford and continued to visit regularly, while also showing support for the major fundraising event.

The senior royal is known to work very hard and carries out more than 200 assignments each year, including visits to schools, universities and military bases.
