  • Delays due to ‘communication problem’

Many Sydney trains are not running due to urgent track repairs, as commuters describe rush hour disruptions as ‘chaos’.

Dozens of commuters are confused after several lines were canceled on Thursday morning due to ‘communication problems’ at Martin Place.

Commuters entering the city from the east and west have been forced to find another means of transportation to get to school and work on time.

There will be no trains running between Bondi Junction and Central on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line from 8am on Thursday morning.

A Transport NSW spokesman said the cancellations were due to ‘urgent track repairs at Martin Place’.

“Passengers should also allow for additional travel time, listen to announcements and check information screens for service updates,” they said.

One traveler described the rush hour disruption as ‘chaos’.

“It’s chaos, nobody knows what’s going on,” they said.

“The train staff were coy about the situation at Martin Place, only that a situation has happened and all trains to the city have been canceled until further notice.

“Now hundreds of people are crowding the streets to get on a bus to the city.”

“Trains in the eastern suburbs have been canceled for the foreseeable future due to a ‘communication problem’ at Martin Place,” another commuter tweeted.

More to come.
