Taylor Swift keeps us on our toes with her forever Eras tour surprising setlist of songs because she now adds mash-ups to the rotation.
During her concert on Saturday, November 11 in Buenos Aires, Swift, 33, kicked off her acoustic section with “Is It Over Now?” (From the safe).” According to social media In video footage, she subtly switched to “Out of the Woods” and sang the chorus.
While Swift plays a three-hour set during each show Eras tour show, she plays two songs every night and rarely repeats selections. Saturday’s show, which also featured a rendition of Reputation‘End Game’ was the first time she had heard ‘Out of the Woods’ and ‘Is It Over Now? (From the Vault)” on tour – and the first time since her recorded version of 1989 (Taylor’s version) dropped last month.
As Swift began strumming her guitar to the tune “Out of the Woods,” eagle-eyed Swifties caught her looking knowingly at the audience. Social media users were quick to speculate that the look had to do with the song’s supposed inspiration: Harry Styles.
Swift and Styles, 29, briefly dated in late 2012 and eventually went their separate ways in January 2013. Less than a year later 1989 was released in October 2014 – and fans speculated that the LPs “Style” and “Out of the Woods” were about styles. Although Swift doesn’t reveal who inspires her music, fans thought “Out of the Woods” was about the One Direction alum due to a snowmobile accident they were both reportedly involved in during their romance. (Styles was photographed wearing a bandage days after the incident occurred.)
“Remember when you hit the brakes too fast/Twenty stitches in a hospital room/When you started crying, baby, so did I,” she sings in “Out of the Woods.”
“Is it over now?” originally didn’t make the tracklist for it 1989with fans discovering the lyrics for the first time on the re-recorded version 1989 (Taylor’s version). Once again, Swifties speculated that the lines hinted at her post-split mentality after Styles quickly moved on from ‘model’ Kendall Jenner.
‘And you thought I didn’t see you? / There were flashing lights,” Swift sings in one part, seemingly referencing her ex who was photographed with his new partner. “At least I had the decency / To keep my nights out of sight / Only rumors about my hips and thighs / And my whispered sighs.”
Besides the mash-up, Saturday’s show was especially memorable for fans as Swift’s new love interest, Travis Kelce, was in the crowd. Kelce, 34, sat in the VIP section with Taylor’s father, Scott Swiftwhere they were surprised when Taylor gave her husband a sweet shout-out during “Karma.”
“Karma is the Chiefs guy coming straight to my house,” she giggled, swapping the OG “screen” for the name of Kelce’s football team.
