The last tickets for Taylor Swift’s Australian Eras tour go on general sale as die-hard Swifties camp outside Ticketek’s offices to snag seats because ‘it’s easier than buying them online’

Tickets for Taylor Swift’s Australian Eras tour finally went on general sale on Friday after two advance sales that devastated the internet.

Thousands of Aussie fans have lined up online for tickets, while others have camped outside Ticketek’s offices “because it’s easier than buying them online.”

The Speak Now singer was forced to add the extra dates after millions of eager fans missed tickets during presale.

Swift announced a third Melbourne show at the MCG on February 18 next year and a fourth Sydney concert at Accor Stadium on February 26 as part of The Eras Tour.

They went on sale Friday, along with remaining tickets for the five previously announced shows.

The Grammy award-winning star will become the first artist since Madonna to perform three consecutive concerts at the Melbourne Cricket Ground when she takes the stage in February next year, and the first ever to play a fourth consecutive show at Sydney’s Accor Stadium.

The new performances are in addition to the existing concerts in Melbourne on February 16 and 17 and shows in Sydney on February 23, 24 and 25.

On Friday, frantic fans took to social media to tweet Ticketek, begging for seats to one of the shows.

This is becoming an obsession. I feel like a stalker!’ wrote one fan.

“I’m going to start playing all the Taylor Swift albums and see how long it lasts,” another wrote.

“Guys I’m at work serving customers please get me tickets right away please I’m begging you,” another pleaded.

A cash-strapped fan wrote, “How much are booking/service fees per ticket? Do you have to be sure that you take sufficient account?’

Other fans camped outside Ticketek offices in an attempt to beat online queues.

“3 more hours until the box office opens, but the atmosphere is impeccable,” Swift superfan Bec Sammut said in a viral TikTok video as she waited outside in the dead of winter.

“Camping overnight at the Ticketek office for Taylor Swift tickets because that’s legitimately easier than getting them online,” she wrote.

It comes after thousands of Aussie Swifties collapsed trying to secure a seat for her next year’s concert during the second presale of Frontier’s Touring via Ticketek earlier this week.

Plenty of lucky Swifties had successfully secured tickets, but many claimed that the Ticketek app had crashed and they couldn’t get through to the purchase page.

‘This was unexpected. Please try again,” one message read.

At one point, a record 800,000 fans waited nervously in line, with some waiting more than 15 minutes to move on to the next page.

A Ticketek spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia that the app was up and running, but that fans experiencing issues most likely don’t have the latest updated version.

Swifties can also access tickets through the Ticketek website.
