The rankings are based on Skyscanner data showing prices for flights from the UK in the last 12 months compared to 2022.

The report also reveals the top 10 trending destinations, according to Skyscanner flight searches from the UK.

Topping the list with an astonishing 1,235 percent increase in flight searches is Vigo, a city on the northwest coast of Spain.

In second place is Leipzig, Germany, where flight searches increased by 545 percent, followed by Rimini in third place, with a 362 percent increase. It is called Italy’s iconic beach town National Geographic.

She added: ‘We see a broad spectrum of cultural curiosity in travel, from giggoers heading out to see their favorite artists, to budget bougie foodies looking for the very best dining experience – at the very best price.

‘However, the cost of living remains a top priority and our money-saving tools continue to grow in popularity. Our ‘Everywhere’ search, which shows prices from lowest to highest, from airports to global destinations, is the top search destination for travelers worldwide this year.”
