The current owners now plan to “remove all signs”. Brueckner to prevent it from becoming a creepy mecca – while the vagabond is on trial in the city.

A source said: “The landlord here is now just sick and tired of all the negativity Brueckner has brought to this place.

“The whole world now knows that this is where he worked and also hung out with his friends in the back, drinking and partying all night and causing trouble.

“People always show up, and I’ve had people try to break down the door, and a few weeks ago someone even tried to climb in through the window.

“Because of all this, the landlord wants to remove all signs from outside, because they are now known everywhere.

“It’s a visual time bomb, but luckily everything will look very different soon.”

In October 2014, a resident named Norbert took over the kiosk from Brueckner.

The trial against Brueckner will start again tomorrow suspended after nine minutes last week.

But just nine minutes into today’s opening hearing, the trial had to be adjourned.

His lawyer Dr. Friedrich Fülscher, funded by Legal Aid, immediately began trying to discredit one of the lay judges who would help decide Brueckner’s sentence.

Dr. Fülscher claimed she had called for the assassination of a president on social media.

He said the woman had written “kill the b*****d now” and “kill the devil”, referring to Brazilian leader Jair Bolsonaro.

Dr. Fülscher said the comment meant she was unfit to handle the case and could not be relied upon for his client.

The hearing was adjourned before Judge Christina Engelmann ruled that the lay judge could not preside over the case because of the posts.

A replacement judge has now been found and the hearing has been moved to Friday.

His alleged victims include Irish mother Hazel Behan, who says he raped her when she was 20 and working as a holiday worker in Portugal in 2004.

He is also accused of raping and abusing a teenage girl and a 70- to 80-year-old woman at his home in Praia da Luz between December 2000 and June 2006.

Other sickening allegations the court heard included that he masturbated in front of a girl at a playground in Mesen in June 2017.

He is also facing claims that he did the same in front of another girl, on the beach of Salema, Portugal, in April 2007.

German Drifter Brueckner is already in prison, already serving a seven-year sentence for rape.

Another conviction will keep him behind bars; as fears grow, he may never be charged in Madeleine’s disappearance.

Brueckner was identified four years ago as the main suspect in the kidnapping of Madeleine from her family’s holiday apartment in Portugal in 2007.

German investigators believe Brueckner kidnapped and murdered her, although no charges have been filed against him.
