Neville Staple has been forced to withdraw from all upcoming performances due to a 'serious' heart condition.
The 68-year-old singer – who is best known as part of 2 Tone ska band The Specials – was lined up for a series of gigs over the coming year, but after being hospitalized a total of three times in December, specialists have now advised him to pull the plug on all upcoming live shows.
A statement on
'Neville has been treated in three different hospitals and specialists have prescribed treatments and medications to manage his symptoms, and thankfully things appear to have stabilized.
'However, experts have decided that Neville should take a complete rest from live performances and touring.'

A statement said: 'Neville has been treated in three different hospitals and specialists have prescribed treatments and medications to manage his symptoms and thankfully things appear to have stabilised.'
The 'Ghost Town' hitmaker – who is married to Christine Staple – is 'devastated' to have to pull out of his performances but knows his fans will 'understand' as he spends time recovering with his family.
The statement added: 'Neville absolutely loves performing and is clearly devastated by this news.
“He had gigs and festivals planned for 2024 and beyond, all of which will have to be cancelled.
'Neville knows his fans and followers will understand the decision that has to be made and he wants them to know he is in the best possible hands with his medical team, wife and family.
'He thanks you all for your love and support over the years and hopes to see you again soon..'
Despite canceling all his live performances, Neville is 'hopeful' that he will be healthy enough to attend personal appearances, charity events and the like.
In addition to his work with The Specials, Neville also performed with Ranking Roger in the Special Beat.
He founded The Neville Staple Band in 2004 and continues to collaborate with other artists.
