An abandoned house dubbed the 'worst' property of a Queensland real estate agent's career is going under the hammer.

The three-bedroom house at 7 Corveth Street in Thuringowa Central, near Townsville, has been likened to 'something out of a horror movie' because of the shocking state it has been left in.

The house stands on a plot of land of 667 square meters and is described as the worst house on an otherwise very good street.

Agent Sean Breitkreutz of Belle Property didn't hesitate to list the home's many flaws, sharing a video on Facebook calling it “the worst house of my career.”

The ownership notice also did not shy away from brutally disgracing the house, describing the patio as “lasting its life.”

“Three bedrooms if you're brave enough to sleep in them now – and a bathroom that looks like it's out of a horror movie,” the ad reads.

“The kitchen is begging to be demolished and the carpet wouldn't have looked out of place in your grandmother's house a hundred years ago.”

Mr Breitkreutz said the house was perfect for potential buyers looking to demolish and rebuild, adding that Corveth Street was otherwise filled with beautiful homes.

Video from the property showed the tin roof had almost completely collapsed, with Mr Breitkreutz saying tens of thousands of dollars had been spent just clearing the garden.

“And don't worry about an external wash because a high-pressure hose will probably go right through the walls,” he said.

Venturing inside, Mr. Breitkreutz filmed the laundry, which was covered in dirt and mold.

The walls throughout the house were all stained, while most of the floorboards were torn. The small amount of carpet that was left was in a disgusting state.

'I'm almost certain someone lost their liver and kidneys in this [bathroom].' Mr. Breitkreutz said.

'If only you could smell what I smell now.

“Can you believe someone slept here not so long ago?”

The house was so shocking that Mr. Breitkreutz said he probably should have worn a hazmat suit.

“We have termite activity here,” he said.

'It's definitely rank. The only thing this place has going for it is that it is the worst property in a very, very nice pocket.”

The officer said the house only had one neighbor because there was a church behind it.

The house will be auctioned on February 10.
