Toddler fights for her life after being reversed over on K’gari beach as her desperate father performs CPR

A toddler is fighting for her life after a ute ran over her and pushed her face first into the sand on K’gari (formerly Fraser Island), Queensland, on Thursday morning.

She became unresponsive after the accident, which happened around 10 a.m., and her father initially performed CPR on her.

Her parents then took their daughter to the east side of the island and waited for emergency services to arrive.

The child was flown to hospital by a LifeFlight rescue helicopter after being treated by paramedics.

The young girl suffered severe bruising and tire marks on her leg, back and ear.

The car’s tires reportedly rolled over the girl at low speed, pushing her into the sand.

The toddler was taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane in a serious but stable condition.

A police Forensic Crash Unit team is investigating the incident.
