Traffic advisory issued in Noida for New Year, severe punishment for drunk drivers: checklist of routes to avoid

Noida Traffic Advisory: Police advised people to park their vehicles only in designated parking spaces and not leave them on roads or unauthorized places.

Noida Traffic Advisory: In a moderately comprehensive arrangement for New Year celebrations, Noida Police has issued a traffic advisory for December 31 and warned the public about diversions that will take place near busy markets and malls on New Year’s Eve.

In the advisory, Noida Police warned of strict action in the form of heavy fines and seizure of vehicles against those violating traffic rules, especially in cases of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Check traffic diversions

The police further added that various traffic arrangements and diversions will be made to ease traffic congestion on the roads on New Year’s Eve.

As per the advisory, the traffic diversions will take place near the Sector 18 market, malls such as the Greater Indian Place, DLF Mall of India, Gardens Galleria, Center Stage Mall, Logix, Spectrum, Starling Edge, SkyOne and the Advant Navis in Noida and Ansal, Venice Mall and Gaur City Mall, Pari Chow, Jagat Farm in Greater Noida.

Police advised people to park their vehicles only in designated parking spaces and not leave them on the road or in unauthorized areas.

“In case of traffic disruption, please contact the traffic helpline number – 9971009001. Use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience,” the police said in the advisory.

Giving additional details, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Anand Kulkarni said the police will make elaborate arrangements for New Year celebrations in the district.

He further stated that organizers need police permission to organize large gatherings and parties on New Year’s Eve. “The police team, including plainclothes, will be deployed at shopping malls, pubs and other locations to maintain law and order,” he told HT.
