ISRAEL ADESANYA and his team have “answered the call” to headline UFC 300, it has been claimed.
The premier Mixed Martial Arts promotion has yet to officially announce the main event for their historic April 13 card in Las Vegas.
In recent weeks, UFC chief executive Dana White has teased a “crazy” showpiece event for the card – with many believing a grudge match between Adesanya and rival Dricus Du Plessis could top the showdown in Sin City.
And The Last Stylebender head coach Eugene Bareman has revealed he is now “in camp” after UFC brass called him about potentially headlining the event.
He told The MacLife: “I can say we are ready to fight. Israel is ready to fight.
“He's in camp, has been in camp, and we responded to that call, and we assessed it because Israel is coming off an injury.
“And we decided as a team: yes, let's go to camp.
“There's a good chance this fight could happen on this date and let's pretend we're fighting on that date.
“So we're ready to go.”
Bareman admits the opportunity to top the historic card is too good to pass up on former middleweight champion Adesanya.

He said: “This is the biggest event in the UFC history.
“If it means Israel has to shift its schedule and double its rehabilitation to get better.
“We're just not prepared to be the guy who will let the world and the company down when they need us.
“We're just not going to do that… So we're ready to go, brother.”
MMA fans around the world are patiently waiting for the promotion to announce the headliners of their highly anticipated show.
And UFC president and CEO White revealed earlier this week that he could announce the card's main event TOMORROW MORNING.
He told Kevin Iole: “I'll probably announce it at the press conference this weekend.”
