Ulrika Jonsson has branded former lover Sven-Goran Eriksson as ‘not a decent person’ as she broke her silence after he revealed he was dying of terminal cancer.

The TV presenter, 56, took to Instagram on Thursday evening to share a short post after the former England manager, 75, publicly shared the devastating news.

She shared a throwback photo of herself to her Stories and emphasized that she had “nothing to say about Sven” in an accompanying caption.

The message – which has since been deleted – read: “Look at me so young. So. PSA. I have nothing to say about Sven. #nada. Not a decent human being.” (sic)

Earlier in the day, Ulrika was seen in public for the first time since Sven’s diagnosis as she visited the shops in Wallingford, Oxfordshire.

Sven worked for Italian lawyer Nancy Dell’Olio for three years when they moved to England for his job as team manager.

But in early 2002 he had started an affair with fellow countryman Ulrika.

Them later wrote about their affair: ‘Continuing my search for love, I paused for an awkward under-the-covers attempt with the almost 60-year-old Sven-Göran Eriksson.

‘Do you remember him, the former England football manager?

“Yes, I’m trying to forget it too, because sex was about as exciting as putting together an IKEA bookcase, which makes my case for a younger man inescapably compelling.”

‘My children took me to hospital and after a day of examination they told me that I had had five small strokes, but that’s okay, they said, no problem, you will recover 100 percent.

“But even worse, they said you have cancer that we cannot operate on and that we will give you treatment and medicine so that you will live as long as possible.

‘But I have that diagnosis and they can’t operate on him.

“When you get a message like that, I think you appreciate every day and you’re happy when you wake up in the morning and you feel good. So that’s what I do.’

He also spoke to Sweden P1 radio station, and said: ‘Everyone understands that I have a disease that is not good. Everyone suspects it’s cancer, and it is. But I have to fight as long as I can.”

When asked what the prognosis is, he added that he “may have a year at best, a little less at worst, or maybe even longer at best.” You can’t be completely sure. It’s better not to think about it’.

There was speculation about his health after he stopped working as sporting director of Karlstad in his native Sweden. On Thursday he announced that he collapsed after a run last year and found out he was seriously ill.

He said, ‘It’s not good. Everyone suspected it was cancer, and it was. But I have to fight while I can.

‘But you can fool your brain. See the positive in things, don’t wallow in setbacks, because this is of course the biggest setback, but make something good out of it.’

Sven told P1 that he had suddenly collapsed during a 5km run.

After a visit to his doctors, it turned out that Sven had had a stroke and also had cancer.

He said, “They don’t know how long I’ve had cancer, maybe a month or a year.”

In a glittering managerial career, Sven was boss of IFK Göteborg, Benfica, Roma, Roma, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Lazio, Manchester City and Leicester City.

He was also manager of Mexico, Ivory Coast and the Philippines.

While in charge of England for five years, he became the most famous football manager in the world.

Between 2001 and 2006 he managed the so-called ‘golden generation’ of stars such as David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, but never won the expected major trophy.

His tragic diagnosis came almost exactly 22 years after he resigned as manager of Lazio, before taking up his coaching role with England.
