VALORANT’S next major esports tournament in Europe is just around the corner, kicking off the Valorant Champions Tour 2024.

The first global event of the season is the VCT Masters Madrid 2024which starts on March 14, 2024 in the Spanish capital.

VCT Masters Madrid 2024 prize money

The eight teams that have qualified for VCT Masters Madrid 2024 will compete for a share of the $500,000 (approximately £390,700) total prize pool.

The prize money will be distributed among all participating teams based on their final placing, with the winning team winning a $250,000 prize.

The winners will also earn 3 VCT ​​points, which will contribute towards their qualification for the end-of-season Champions event.

VCT Masters Madrid 2024 will field the eight teams that have qualified for regional VCT 2024 Kickoff events.

Two teams from each regional league will form the lineup for this tournament.

VCT Masters Madrid 2024 is an in-person event with a live audience and all matches will take place in the 12,000-seat venue Madrid Arena.

VCT Masters Madrid 2024 format

The tournament will take place in two phases. The first, called the Swiss stagewill feature a Swiss system tournament.

Each team plays a series of matches and the top four teams advance to the next stage.

In the Swiss format, each team’s next opponent is determined by the result of the previous matches.

This is different from round-robin tournaments, where each team plays against every other team, and group formats where the matches are predetermined.

The top four teams will then undergo direct elimination Playoffs Phasewhich will end in the Grand finale on March 24, 2024.

VCT Masters Madrid 2024 schedule

The schedule and fixtures for Round 1 of the Swiss stage have been announced and are as follows:

Day 1 – March 14, 2024

• Karmine Corp vs FunPlus Phoenix – 2pm UK time / 7am PT
• Gen.G Esports vs LOUD – 5pm UK time / 10am PT

Day 2 – March 15, 2024

• EDward Gaming vs Paper Rex – 2pm UK time / 7am PT
• Sentinels vs Team Heretics – 5pm UK time / 10am PT

Round 2 will take place on March 16 and 17, 2024, and the final Round 3 of the Swiss leg will take place on March 18, 2024.

Just like during the first two days, all matches start at 7 p.m 2pm UK time / 7am PT or 5pm UK time / 10am PT.

The Playoffs will take place from March 21 to March 24, 2024.
