Calcutta: Virat Kohli was caught watching the Pakistan-New Zealand encounter in the ongoing ODI World Cup while getting a haircut in Kolkata on the eve of his birthday. The photo of this went viral on social media. Kohli, who celebrates his 35th birthday today, will be part of the Indian squad that will take on South Africa at the Eden Gardens from 2pm IST. Notably, South Africa joined India in the semi-finals after Pakistan’s 21-run win over New Zealand via the DLS method.

In the photo, Kohli was focused on the match being streamed live on his mobile phone as the barber adjusted his height and breathing. While the outcome of the Pakistan-New Zealand match had no impact on India at this point, it could play a major role as far as Men in Blue’s semi-final opponents are concerned.

Kohli has been in great form this World Cup. The right-hander came in at number 3 and scored 354 runs in seven matches, including a hundred against Bangladesh. He is also one shy of equaling Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI centuries. He could have equaled Tendulkar’s record had he not been 95 out against New Zealand. H also scored 88 against Sri Lanka.
