Wednesday star Percy Hynes White has broken his silence after allegations of sexual misconduct were made against him in January.
The actor, 21, who plays Xavier Thorpe on the Netflix show, was accused of predatory behavior towards women in a series of now-deleted Tweets. This led to the rise of the hashtag #CancelPercy and calls for his resignation from the Tim Burton show.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the star hit back at the “baseless, damaging allegations” and denied all allegations against him.
He wrote: ‘Hello everyone. There is something I need to clarify. Earlier this year, someone I’ve never met started a campaign online with misinformation about me.
“Because of this, my family has been intoxicated and my friends have received death threats.

“Underage photos of me were used and examples of my character were presented as hateful.
“My friend Jane has been falsely portrayed as a victim and her efforts to make things right have been ignored. She gave me permission to include her in this post.
“The rumors are false. I cannot accept being portrayed as bigoted or criminally negligent with people’s safety
“These are the kind of baseless, damaging claims that can inspire mistrust towards victims.
“It is very disturbing to know that this misinformation has upset people. I am truly grateful to everyone who has stood by me and helped share the facts. Harassment of my family, friends and colleagues must please stop.
“Thanks for taking the time to read this.”
The original allegations were that a Twitter user posted a series of tweets accusing Hynes White of sending images of himself to minors and using racial slurs during a performance.
The thread has now been removed.
In the wake of the claims, Hynes White — reportedly in a romance with his co-star Jenna Ortega, 20 — had not posted on Instagram and had limited comments on his posts.
Wednesday season two was confirmed earlier this year, but it’s unknown if Hynes White will return.
