What is the McDonald's Breakfast Wrap and why was it removed from the menu?
Fans of MCDONALD'S will be happy to hear that the popular breakfast pack is finally back on menus.
The fast food giant revealed exclusively to The Sun that the beloved item would be making a comeback, but some people still can't find it.
Foodies have been clamoring for a comeback for the wrap since it was taken off the menu.
The chain removed both Breakfast Wraps and Breakfast Bagels from restaurants in March 2020.
Those who prayed for their return were left devastated in January 2022 when it was confirmed the items were gone for good.
For four years their cries fell on deaf ears, but not for much longer.
And not only is the breakfast snack back, but it has also undergone a facelift.
When did the McDonald's Breakfast Wrap return to menus?
The Breakfast Wrap appeared on McDonald's breakfast menus earlier this week on Wednesday, February 7.
It should be available in all 14,000 or so restaurants in Britain and Ireland.
The wrap is served all morning until 11am, when it switches to lunch and dinner meals.
You can pick it up from 5am if your local Maccies is open 24 hours.
If not, it will be available from the moment the branch opens.
Fans should be quick, though, as the breakfast snack will only be available for a limited time, but if it's popular it could be made permanent.
Why can't I find the McDonald's Breakfast Wrap?
If you can't find McDonald's packaging, the fast-food chain may have axed the fan favorite due to “unprecedented demand.”
A McDonald's spokeswoman said they had to do this to avoid running out of all wider breakfast items.
However, the brand has assured fans that this is temporary.
What has changed in the McDonald's Breakfast Wrap?
It is thought that one of the biggest problems with the previous version of the Maccies Breakfast Wrap was the folded eggs, which were difficult to make in the morning rush hour.
The new snack comes with two round free-range eggs stuffed inside.
These are similar to those in classic McMuffins.
It now consists of a pork sausage patty, two round free-range eggs and a slice of bacon.
This is then topped with a crispy potato rosti and cheese, all served in a tortilla wrap.
Fans have the choice of ordering it with tomato ketchup or brown sauce.
The returning favorite costs €4.39 alone, or €5.89 for a meal with a drink and a potato wedge.
But remember that prices vary from restaurant to restaurant, so be sure to double check before paying.
What else is on the McDonald's breakfast menu?
The wrap joins a slew of other breakfast items, including the iconic McMuffins and Cheesy Bacon Flatbreads.
The latest addition was the Mighty McMuffin, which first debuted in November 2022.
The stacked snack then made a comeback in March last year and has been on the menu ever since.
