However elegant and stylish Royal wardrobes may be, ‘modesty’ is normally a key word.

But there’s one adventurous style that does show up at public events – the glamorous thigh-high split.

Of course carefully calibrated.

A leg flash was an integral part of the £3,000 green Suzannah tea dress Kate wore last week while visiting the Anna Freud Center, for example.

Not that she’s the only royal to look good in a slit dress: Queen Letitia of Spain, known for her impeccable style, looked typically sleek at a military parade in July 2020.

Letizia wore a figure-hugging, floor-length silhouette with a V-neckline and a bold slit that showed off her muscular legs.

Princess Charlene of Monaco also knows how to rock a slit dress, and the stunning white Louis Vuitton embroidered dress she wore to the closing ceremony of the 59th Monte Carlo TV Festival in June 2019 was to die for.
